The bags are packed, the final details have been checked—probably more than once—and we are officially off to Kenya!
This trip brings together so many things that matter deeply to Empower & Shine: celebrating people who are creating change in their own lives, learning from the communities we visit, experiencing a beautiful culture, and seeing firsthand how local ideas are making a lasting difference.
At the heart of our journey will be the opportunity to celebrate graduates of Street Business
School. These incredible entrepreneurs have worked hard to build their skills, strengthen their confidence, and create new possibilities for themselves and their families. We cannot wait to stand beside them, cheer loudly, and recognize everything they have accomplished.
Their graduation is much more than a ceremony. It represents determination, independence, and the power of a hand up—not a handout. That is exactly what Empower & Shine is all about.

A Journey of Learning
While we are in Kenya, we will also have the privilege of learning about the people, traditions, and culture that make the country so extraordinary. We are looking forward to meeting new friends, listening to their stories, sharing plenty of laughter, and experiencing Kenya in a way that goes far beyond simply visiting.
Our itinerary will introduce us to several projects and practices that protect both communities and the natural world. We will learn more about water conservation and the creative ways people are working to protect one of the most essential resources on the planet. We will also explore wildlife and animal conservation efforts. And yes, there will be a safari! We are beyond excited to see Kenya’s magnificent wildlife in its natural habitat, but even more importantly, to better understand the work being done to preserve these animals and the land they depend on for future generations.
Another stop on our journey will give us a closer look at beekeeping. Bees may be small, but their impact is enormous. Beekeeping supports pollination, protects the environment, and can provide families with a sustainable source of income. It is a perfect example of how
conservation and opportunity can work together.
More Than a Trip
We know this journey will be filled with unforgettable sights, but the people we meet and the
lessons we bring home will matter most.
We are going to Kenya to celebrate achievement, learn from others, explore solutions that are already working, and discover new ways Empower & Shine can continue helping people rise up.
We will be sharing the journey along the way—from the Street Business School graduation
celebrations to the conservation work, cultural experiences, beekeeping, safari adventures, and all the unexpected moments in between.
Kenya, here we come. We are ready to learn, ready to celebrate, and very ready for this
adventure!
Follow along as we take you with us.
