OUR KENYA TRIP: A DREAM EXPERIENCE
We're back!!!! After a beautiful, inspiring, action-packed and empowering trip to Kenya, Joelle, Steve, and Patty are safely back in the USA with renewed direction and countless memories. We were blessed with old friends and new, and remain in awe of the people that are working tirelessly to serve their communities and truly be the change. We wanted to share some of the incredible moments from our trip with you:
Witnessing first hand the impact one person can make. We visited the CHP Talek Health Centre in the Maasai Mara, where Dr. Angela Meipuki is the only resident doctor serving a region of more than 200,000 people. She and a passionate team care for a huge variety of medical issues, perform surgeries, care for pregnant women, infants, and children, and tirelessly work to keep the residents of this region healthy. The dedication of Dr. Meipuki and her team was awe-inspiring.
Being able to celebrate in person with more than 200 incredible women graduating from Street Business School in the Maasai Mara community, and witnessing past graduates thrive in their businesses and creating stability for themselves and their families! Empower and Shine sponsored nearly 2,000 graduates across Kenya + Uganda.
Experiencing the wildlife of Kenya! We were lucky enough to go on a couple of safaris and get up close with lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos, monkeys, and more! This was a truly special part of our trip.
Immersing ourselves in the Maa Trust, learning about projects supporting education, clean water, healthcare, conservation, and economic opportunity throughout the Maasai Mara. There are so many people committed to doing the good!
Diving head first into our newest cause, the PAD Project! We are partnering with the incredible Rotary Club of Maya, who will be distributing pads to girls in need. Menstruation should not be a reason for girls to drop out of school, and we are committed to doing our part to help them get the resources they need to be healthy, cared for, and educated.
Check out one of the intro pages of the journals that we are providing to girls along with the menstrual products. The journal will provide reassurance, affirmations, and important education about the bodily changes they are experiencing. This project is a true labor of love and passion! If you feel inclined to make a donation of any amount, we would be so grateful! You can donate to the PAD project here.

Thank you for following along on our journey! We are so excited for the partnerships we continue to make with each new trip and experience, and the new populations we are able to serve. We couldn't do it without you.
