We are so thrilled to share about our first community festival in Glendale, AZ this month! This event was planned and organized by an amazing non-profit called Survivors Empowered Inc. Their mission is to empower survivors of sexual violence by providing approved financial aid for their attendance at The Meadows Behavioral Healthcare. They are committed to facilitating survivors’ journeys towards reclaiming their well-being and leading fulfilling lives beyond their traumatic experiences. The RISE festival was held on May 11th at the beautiful State Farm Stadium’s Great Lawn and it was the perfect place for us to have our first tabling event. The event was focused on positivity, and featured local small businesses, face painting, live music, yoga and dance classes, a kids play area, and delicious food! We were able to meet numerous local organizations, dedicated to helping educate, support, encourage, and empower victims of sexual and domestic violence.

While this can be an area of shame, fear or confusion for many survivors, the more we show up as a community with support and education, the more we de-stigmatize sexual assault and bring it out of the shadows. We left the festival inspired for how we can further support survivors, and partner with other community organizations to bring empowerment to the forefront.

Remember, there is strength in numbers and YOU are loved, valuable, and fierce. Keep Shining!
